UV Laser Marking Machine
High-speed, precision solutions for metal-free marking and engraving on wood, acrylic, leather, DIY gifts, glass, and packaging.
UV Laser Working Principle
ONSlaser UV laser marking machine adopts advanced 355nm ultraviolet cold laser technology, realizing zero thermal damage ultra-fine marking. It makes up for the processing limitations of fiber laser and CO₂ laser, and is the preferred equipment for heat-sensitive materials, transparent materials, electronic precision parts and personalized DIY engraving.
What is a UV Laser?
To produce a UV laser, the laser beam passes through two addional crystals that conventional fiber laser systems lack. First, By passing a standard wavelength laser(1064nm) through a nonlinear crystal , the wavelength is reduced to 532 nm. Then, this light is further passed through another crystal, effiectively reducing its wavelength to 355nm. As a result, UV lasers are commonly called third-harmonic generation (THG) lasers because they are the third wavelengh created. v using these lasers is called “Cold Marking,” which refers to how they can perform marking and processing with minimal heat stress.
How UV Laser Marking Works?
01
Laser Generation (Cold Light Source)
The professional UV laser generator outputs stable 355nm short-wavelength ultraviolet laser. With high single-photon energy, it forms a high-density cold laser beam, which is the core light source for non-thermal precision processing.
02
Laser Transmission & Collimation
The dedicated low-loss optical fiber transmits the cold laser beam stably without energy attenuation or beam deviation. The collimation lens group calibrates the light path to ensure uniform laser energy, laying the foundation for consistent ultra-fine marking effect.

03
High-precision Galvo Trajectory Control
The built-in high-speed galvanometer scanning system precisely deflects the focused UV laser spot. It accurately traces preset texts, logos, QR codes and complex patterns, with independent energy control for each coordinate to realize ultra-clear fine carving.
04
Photochemical Material Ablation
The high-energy short-wavelength laser breaks the molecular bonds on the material surface instantly through photochemical reaction:
- Transparent & Heat-sensitive Materials (Glass, Acrylic, PCB, Plastic): Realize precise stripping and marking without thermal radiation, yellowing or edge scorch.
- Handicraft & DIY Materials (Wood Slices, Leather): Form delicate high-contrast patterns without burning or carbonization damage.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Fiber Laser Marking Machines
Q1: Will UV laser markings fade over time?
A: UV laser marking creates durable marks by modifying or removing material at the surface rather than applying ink. Marking durability depends on the substrate, marking parameters, surface treatment, and operating environment. On suitable materials, UV laser marking can provide long-lasting, high-contrast identification for industrial applications.
Q2: Can a UV laser mark ultra-small text and micro QR codes?
A: Yes. The short 355nm wavelength and small focused spot make UV lasers well suited to fine text, micro QR codes, serial numbers, and other high-detail identification. Actual minimum feature size depends on the optical configuration, marking area, material, and code requirements.
Q3: Can UV lasers mark colored surfaces and coated materials?
A: Yes. UV lasers can produce high-contrast marks on many colored plastics, painted surfaces, anodized aluminum, and coated materials. Depending on the material and coating, the laser can selectively modify or remove the surface layer with limited impact on the underlying substrate. Sample testing is recommended to determine the optimal parameters and marking result.
Q4: Can the UV laser marking machine be customized for my production requirements?
A: Yes. We offer customized configurations including laser power (3W/5W/10W), marking area, rotary axes for cylindrical parts, translation stages for long workpieces, and integration options for automated production lines. Voltage, plug type, machine configuration, and branding can also be adapted to project requirements.
Q5: What are the lead times and shipping options for UV laser marking machines?
A: Lead time depends on the machine configuration, customization requirements, and current stock availability. Standard configurations can typically be prepared faster than customized systems. We support sea freight, air freight, and door-to-door delivery, with shipping options arranged according to the destination and project requirements. Applicable compliance documents can be provided according to the machine configuration and destination market.
Q6: What after-sales service and technical support are included?
A: We provide pre-shipment machine testing, operation guidance, manuals, parameter setup support, and remote technical assistance. Our technical team can also assist with software setup, troubleshooting, and application-related questions after delivery. Warranty terms and service options are provided according to the machine configuration and order agreement.
